Course Summary & Objectives

OneChild’s Child Protection course is a comprehensive course on child safeguarding and protection created by nine subject matter experts in seven countries. While not all lessons have videos, those that do offer videos that are approximately 10 minutes or less with interactive activities to follow, helping the learner absorb the information more effectively.

After completing the course, learners will be able to:

  • describe a theological framework for child protection,
  • distinguish several ways to help prevent abuse,
  • execute a plan of action when a child shares about alleged abuse,
  • understand how to use EthicsPoint, and
  • determine their own next steps in protecting children from abuse

Because this course contains heavy and sensitive content, as stated above, we recommend you pace yourself as you go through this course. This is not the type of course to rush through. It is best to give yourself time to process the content and walk away when you need a break, especially if you have suffered abuse of any kind yourself. If this course is required by your manager/supervisor and there are parts that are triggering, please discuss with your manager who can work with the Global Academy to find a solution for you to be trained without being triggered.
